If you like offshore sportfishing and sailing then you have more than likely seen Lowrance electronics. They have grown to be a leader in manufacturering GPS, Sonar, depth finders, chartplotters and fishfinders. Lowrance marine systems has certainly become one of the best recognized brands in marine electronics among commercial fishermen and boating enthusiasts of all types due to the range of systems they offer.

Having lived for years at the Jersey Shore, I had spent many hours on the ocean and bays. In days past, locating fish was more chance then skill on any given day. However, these days that has all changed.

If you enjoy doing some fishing, you would be fascinated with Lowrance Marine fish finders. They come with dual frequency sonar, 480 X 480 resolution, up to 2500 feet depth penetration, and other sophisticated features. Fish Finders can also be found in the large screen monochrome monitors. Lets face the facts, in order to “hook” the large ones, you have to be capable of finding them first. The latest fishfinder and combo units perform a great job. The popular fishing and boating kits come in a large variety of sizes, prices and colors matching different demands. These days you will see fishfinders and combo units on anything from huge fishing trawlers to small bass boats.

What I definitely value when sailing even in the bays and rivers is the Marine GPS. Marine GPS is definitely the most popular GPS types and Lowrance Marine GPS is at the top of the list. The Lowrance GPS antenna is built-in on most of their GPS enabled units so installation and use is a breeze. Many an occasion I had to offer up excuses for being overdue for supper because I sailed too far. My kids cannot get away with that today because they always know exactly where they are.

A step beyond basic GPS is the Marine GPS chartplotter, that can help you remain on the course. Chartplotters can also give you advance details about the buoys and the tides. They are also great for understanding the weather and can provide you with the sonar and radar images.

When you consider the number of commercial grade solutions on the market, it just makes good sense to add Lowrance electronics to what ever kind of boat you own.
